Making Changes – Moving Forward

Mar 22, 2012   //   by James   //   News, Site News  //  No Comments

It has been a very busy year for us, especially in the last 4 months, with most of our time focused on website design and graphic design.

Since our clients always come first, we have been neglecting our own site, which hasn’t been updated in over a year. We have managed to source some time to give some loving attention to our site, and say a fond farewell to our old theme.

While we really enjoyed our old theme, and spent a lot of time recoding the design, we have been wanting to brighten up the site, have nicer portfolio pages, and have a theme that will allow us to keep the site up to date, with minimal effort.

We have opted for a free WordPress theme, rather than recode from scratch, and over time we will begin to customise the look and feel of the site, to personalise it more to our tastes, and show of our skills at the same time.

What's New?

We have simplified our navigation, and upgraded our page content, as well as a new fancy slider feature on the front page.

We have a more visually pleasing portfolio page, that allows us to keep up to date, much faster than our previous theme, so we can share with you all our latest clients as we complete their projects.

We have upgraded our invoicing system, and will now be sending & tracking our invoices via email, with options for our clients to track their invoices and quotes, as well as make payments online via PayPal.

We’ve also upgraded our logo for a more modern feel, and all our stationary materials (letterheads, business cards, compliment slips, etc.) to reflect our new look.

What we've still to do

We have still to complete our initial tweaks and recoding, but rather than have the site in maintenance mode, we felt it was best to do the final initial tweaks live, so as not to interfere with our clients.

We will also be launching a gateway site for our clients, so they can keep track of projects we have undertaken for them, store their work online, collaborate with James or Duncan on specific projects, keep track of time spent on their projects, manage project files, and manage work flows.

We are doing this to further enhance our services to clients and further streamline the process to make the design process even more simplified for the client, as well as letting them keep a closer track of the developments of their project.

Future Projects

Having not long finished 3 large scale projects, two for Guardian Angels whereby we designed advertising brochures, and one website for Fife Wind Farms, we will shortly be beginning a new video project, that we are very excited about. The video project will require us to film some of the fantastic scenery across Fife and engage with many environmental groups. More information on the video project will be released soon.

We hope you enjoy our new site, and feel free to provide us with any feedback or suggestions for improvements, in the comments below.

Thanks
